A Tarnished Brooch

Ever wondered if that one sentimental piece kept in your jewelry box could be restored as new again? One of our customers made the initiative to get that done through premier jewelry repair services by us!

On this edition of the Weekly Before and After series, we have a very tarnished vintage butterfly brooch. The gold plating had worn off over time, and all that tarnish was hiding the beautiful sterling silver.

There were three key processes that needed to be done for this repair:

  • Carefully remove tarnish from the sterling silver
  • Reapply the gold plating
  • Straighten the Pin

After that we just performed a Clean & Polish and there we go!
