We thought you’d want to know: Here are three affordable jewelry brands that are giving back during the age of COVID-19. Together, we will get through this.
1. Kendra Scott
Jewelry designer Kendra Scott’s Everlyne Friendship Bracelet is giving back during the age of COVID-19:
- “50% of all proceeds from our Everlyne Bracelets will directly support the Feeding America® network of food banks, empowering children to live their brightest and healthiest lives by providing nutrition to those who face hunger while schools are closed.”
This affordable bracelet ($40) comes in an array of colors from Rose Quartz to Ivory Mother of Pearl to Bronze Veined Turquoise. In addition to the bracelets, Kendra Scott features other affordable jewelry pieces that “give back” when you “shop for good.” These jewelry designs include Crescent Moon Charm pendants and Cherry Blossom Tree Charm pendants in gold as well as Silver Long Pendant necklaces and more. Additionally, on March 17, 2020, Kendra Scott also donated 500,000 meals to kickstart the campaign.
2. Luna Skye
Currently, Luna Skye by Samantha Conn is donating $100 from every order to One Fair Wage. You can shop Luna Skye’s “Under $500” collection, which features everything from 14-karat gold Bead Rings to Diamond Mini Crescent Moon Necklaces to the unique Quarter Rainbow Rings designed with rainbow sapphires.Their handcrafted jewelry collection draws much of its inspiration from the moon.
Jewelry designer Samantha Conn explains:
- “The name Luna Skye came very organically, as I’ve always been infatuated with the moon, and using much of that love throughout our pieces. It’s something my father and I always shared growing up. He always told me that no matter where we are in the world, as long as we look at the moon we will be connected. That stayed ingrained in me and knew it was something I wanted to harness into the line.”
According to Insider.com, Luna Skye’s donations to One Fair Wage will support an “organization that offers financial assistance to those whose jobs have been impacted by the pandemic.”
3. Golden Thread
One hundred percent of proceeds from Golden Thread’s Community Collection are dedicated to giving back to the world. In other words, creating a “Golden Thread” of giving and goodness between the jewelry designers, jewelry makers, jewelry wearers and our communities. For example, their Antique Elongated Love Rectangle (a 44 mm pendant/necklace) bears the inscription “love” on its 24-karat gold face. This pendant can be strung from a “golden thread” (a 30-inch chain), or from a chain you already have in your jewelry collection. All five affordable necklaces in this jewelry collection are handmade. Additionally, Golden Thread is donating 30% of all of its proceeds (not just from sales from the Community Collection) to a local food bank that partners with Feeding America.
