Welcome back to another Before & After blog spotlight! We received a vintage Universal Genève timepiece with a fair amount of wear, or in other words, patina.
The owner of the watch wanted to restore this piece back to functioning condition, also requesting a dial refinishing to return the face of the watch back to its former glory. We were more than happy to help the owner of this beautiful blue-faced watch!
The Details of This Universal Genève Watch Restoration
For this vintage timepiece repair, we had to:
- Perform our standard and free professional evaluation by our expert technicians after noting the repair requests of the customer
- As you may have already known, although we are an online jewelry and watch repair company, we only provide evaluations when our skilled craftsmen can physically assess the items in person at our secure facility
- We also made sure to notify the customer that due to the age and condition of the watch, spare part availability and water resistance could not be guaranteed
- Source the necessary and genuine movement parts that worked specifically for this piece
- Perform a complete clean and overhaul of the vintage movement
- Provide polishing for the case, back, and bracelet
- Have our authorized partner Kirk Rich Dial professionally refinish the dial
- Reassemble the entire timepiece
And voilà! This Universal Genève timepiece was restored back to its pristine condition, with no issues along the restoration process.
