A Missing Stone in a Ring With an Invisible Setting
On this edition of the before and after series, we focus on a missing stone replacement on an invisible setting ring repair. Rings with invisibly set diamonds are far more difficult and time consuming than the standard prong or channel settings. However, because of the effort, skill required, and stones required to work with this setting, the value of the diamond ring is also higher.
To replace the missing stone for this ring, we had to:
- Supply the correct cut diamond
- Groove and set the stone
- Tighten the other loose stones
- Perform a rhodium clean and polish to finish the job
