A Vintage Elgin Clean and Overhaul
On this Before & After highlight, we have a vintage Elgin timepiece from the 1940’s that required a clean and overhaul.
For this repair, the following was required:
- Replacement of worn Automatic Movement interior parts (mainspring, balance comp.)
- Cleaning and Adjustment of Interior mechanical parts
- Exterior cleaning
- Stem & Crown Replacement
- Crystal Replacement
- Dial Refinishing
It is then wrapped up with a clean and polish and voila!
Timepieces this old are very delicate, and it should be noted that this was only possible because of the precision and steady hands of our Certified Watchmakers.
